Westhill Rotary Club are once again promoting Young Photographer (YP) and Young Artist (YA) Competitions in our local schools and I am again the club contact for them. I have attached the relevant information packs for both competitions as well as a local appendix and data protection form for each. You will see that the winning entries from our local competition are forwarded  to District and National competitions in which Westhill schools have been quite successful in previous years with a young photographer from Westhill Academy winning the district  competition last year.

We would again like to build on this success by encouraging another large number of entries this year and do hope that your school will take part again or promote the competitions to parents. Entries can be made via schools or independently by emailing for entry and data protection forms from myself on j.w.arbuckle@btinternet.com 

To that end, I will be dropping off posters for both competitions with my contact details on them and entry forms which can be copied to your school admin office next week.

NYCOS National Boys Choir gives enthusiastic singers, who will be 10 or older by April 2026, the opportunity to develop their voice with talented boys from across Scotland.  

What we offer: 

The residential course (6-11 April 2026) provides boys with an encouraging environment where they can hone their singing skills with highly qualified instructors, unlocking their potential while discovering new repertoire and forming new friendships with peers from right across Scotland. 

As boys and their voices change quickly, NYCOS National Boys Choir is split into three sections to best accommodate different ages and stages: 

• National Boys Training Choir for unchanged voices needing development time 

• National Boys Choir for experienced unchanged voices 

• National Boys Changing Voices Choir for boys going through voice change
